In April 2025, the SANFL Players’ Association invited all current SANFL players from standalone SANFL clubs to share their views in a competition wide survey.

The survey provides a snapshot of what life is like for the typical SANFL player.

The key findings from the survey are outlined in the 2025 Conditions Report, and are presented across four key themes:

• Life outside of football;

• Life as a SANFL player;

• Player wellbeing;

• Remuneration.

This is the first survey of its kind.

It describes the opportunity for state league football in South Australia and makes the case that the establishment of a partnership between the players and the league will ensure the long term success of the SANFL.
